Professor Susan Haire teaching her research methods during a criminal justice class in one of the classrooms in Candler Hall. The Criminal Justice Studies Program offers an interdiscipinary academic program of study. Core and elective courses are taught by faculty in units across campus, particularly those that focus on social science. Required courses, including those associated with internship supervision, are taught by faculty in Political Science and Sociology. The Program prepares students for graduate school in criminology, criminal justice, other social science disciplines, and other related professional degree programs, such as law, social work, and public administration. Alumni have gone on to positions in law enforcement, corrections, probation, juvenile justice, corporate security, social services, judicial administration, and other government agencies, including military service.
