Welcome Criminal Justice Studies is housed in Baldwin Hall The Criminal Justice Studies Program at the University of Georgia is an inter-disciplinary undergraduate degree program jointly administered by the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Public and International Affairs. The program provides students with a strong liberal arts education, with majors completing coursework in theory and research methods alongside specialized courses in criminal justice topics. Students also participate in a semester-long internship in a criminal justice agency. This internship is an academic practicum course in which students complete a research project of their own design and also complete a series of analytic essays in which they integrate their previous classroom learning with their experiences in the internship. As a result of this broad-based education, CJ Studies majors at UGA are prepared for a variety of careers in criminal justice and related fields. STUDY Abroad & Experiential Learning Explore the modern city of Liverpool and the coastal beauty of Northern Wales! Students will receive credit for two courses for a total of six credit hours. Students enroll in two courses, one in Sociology and the other in Political Science. In these courses, students learn about the U.K. criminal justice system and explore variation in crime around the globe. Both courses count toward the CJ major. Learn More about Study Abroad Internships The internship semester is an important part of the undergraduate program in Criminal Justice at the University of Georgia. The primary purpose of the internship is to provide students with an opportunity to integrate academic knowledge with experiences obtained in an operational setting.
